Job Description

The Claims Adjuster position is responsible for the investigation, negotiation, evaluation, disposition and settlement of semi-complex claims and moderate exposures on non-traditional claims products. Claims adjuster must calculate and adjudicate claims with minimal to no automation support. This role will be supported with ongoing coaching from leaders while managing routine to mid-level assignments and will manage a heavy case load of claims with a specific determined financial limit up to $25,000.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Adjudication of Claims

  • Investigate and determine appropriate application of coverage.
  • Complies with timeliness, accuracy and service standards of the company and underwriters.
  • Accurately evaluate and determine settlement of semi-complex claims.
  • Review all claim assignments in detail.
  • Ensure proper diary management on all claims.
  • Ability to utilize multiple systems for claims handling/adjudication process.
  • Follow all regulatory and jurisdictional requirements associated with state regulations and guidelines.
  • Develop a strong understanding of collateral protection insurance coverages and policies.

Service Delivery to Customers

  • Provide quality customer service to all clients.
  • Promptly answer inbound calls.
  • Maintain a record of call regarding claims in appropriate system.
  • Effectively communicate to clients/borrower.
  • Promptly and efficiently respond to all email communications (4-8 hrs).
  • Follow policy/procedures regarding calls.

Thorough understanding of claims compliance and state mandated regulations

  • Obtain Property & Casualty (P&C) License required in states where Allied does business.
  • Follow state by state requirement on continuing education.
  • Follow mandates required by state statues and regulation regarding claims adjudication.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of two years of financial services or related insurance field experience.
  • Must obtain and maintain a residence adjusters license
  • Excellent oral, written, decision-making and organizational skills
