Job Description

AEC Home Care is looking for caregivers! Pay Rate is variable (higher pay for more difficult clients) - never earn less than $19.27 per hour The primary job duties of a caregiver are:

• Providing assistance with personal care, conversation, and companionship
• Light housekeeping activities such as vacuuming and laundry
• Accompany on errands like grocery shopping
• Respond to client’s needs promptly while maintaining their self-respect, personal dignity, personal safety and confidentiality
• Communicate any observed or suspected change of condition to a supervisor immediately

We are currently most interested in those interested in working weekends or early shifts (7am start) but all applicants are welcome! Shifts can be as short as 4 hours. Minimum qualifications are:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work patiently with cognitively impaired individuals
• Ability to follow written and oral directions
• Ability to lift 150lbs
• Clean bill of health including physical release and TB screening
• Current COVID vaccination
• Existing HCA or HHA registration preferred, but we can help you register and pay for initial certification (requires fingerprint clearance from the FBI & DOJ)!

All employees accrue sick time. Working 16 hours or more a week makes you eligible for dental insurance, vision insurance, accidental injury insurance, critical illness insurance, identity theft protection, and prepaid legal services beginning the first of the month after 60 days of employment. Working 30 hours or more a week makes you eligible for medical insurance as well! AEC Home Care is a private duty, non-medical, in-home care agency serving the East Bay.
