Job Description

The Consultant shall serve as the main point of contact for all AWS activities, including but not limited to:

• AWS Account Management Act as the primary administrator for all AWS accounts, manage billing, cost optimization, usage monitoring, resource allocation, implement IAM policies and MFA.
• Infrastructure Management Maintain and support Amazon EC2 Instances including availability, performance, patching, and security hardening.
• Maintain and support Amazon S3 Data Storage for secure, durable, and scalable object storage with data lifecycle policies, encryption, access controls, and backup strategies.
• Maintain and support AWS Lambda serverless functions.
• Maintain and support Amazon CloudFront content delivery and caching services.
• Domain and DNS Management using AWS Route 53, SSL/TLS certificates, and routing policies.
• Planning and Architecture Lead cloud strategy, roadmap development, and architectural design ensuring scalability, resiliency, and disaster recovery planning.
• Operations and Maintenance Perform system health checks, patching, updates, monitor performance, security events, respond to incidents, and coordinate remediation.
• Stakeholder and Vendor Coordination Serve as technical liaison between leadership, IT staff, stakeholders, and external vendors.
• Security, Compliance, and Risk Management Implement/manage MFA, ensure adherence to cybersecurity frameworks including NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, support security assessments, audits, Authority to Operate (ATO), maintain documentation for controls.

Deliverables include AWS governance and account management documentation, cloud architecture diagrams, security and compliance documentation, operational runbooks, monthly status and cost reports, incident reports, and recommendations for optimization and modernization.

Required qualifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, AWS Certified Security Specialty, AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty (preferred), CISSP or equivalent (preferred), CISM or equivalent (preferred). Proven experience supporting federal cloud environments with expertise in NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP compliance and identity management.
