Job Description

We are seeking dedicated General Laborers to join our team in preparing construction sites for the installation of erosion control projects. This role involves hands-on tasks such as grading and preparing soil for concrete mat applications, as well as loading and unloading materials from trucks. Successful candidates will work under the guidance of a superintendent and be responsible for reading plans and following instructions.

• Prepare construction sites for erosion control installations.
• Grade, rake, and prepare soil for concrete mat applications.
• Load and unload materials from trucks.
• Read plans and follow instructions from the superintendent.
• Work effectively as part of a team consisting of a Superintendent, an Operator/Foreman, and 2-4 other Laborers.

• Experience in construction or general labor.
• Proficiency with hand tools and shovels.
• Strong work ethic and ability to follow directions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Willingness to travel extensively, with the possibility of being away for weeks or months at a time.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with power tools.
• Experience in fields such as solar, packaging, sheet metal, painting, pipeline, carpentry, cleaning, assembly, forklift operation, and heavy lifting.
• Ability to juggle competing priorities, multi-task, and adapt to changing directions.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and achieving goals.

This position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures. Laborers may be required to travel to different sites across the country, with accommodations provided in shared hotel rooms. Expect long working hours, with a schedule that may include working up to 100 hours per week and only having Sundays off, except during certain weeks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Overland Park, KS.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Overland Park,KS.
