Job Description

ArborScape Inc. is a leading provider of landscape construction, excavation, and trail-building services, known for its commitment to quality craftsmanship and a supportive team environment. We are seeking a motivated Heavy Equipment Operator to join our crew and contribute to a variety of outdoor construction projects. This role offers the opportunity to work with a range of equipment on diverse projects, from land clearing and grading to trail construction, all while developing new skills and advancing your career. Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, skid steers, and trucks for landscaping, excavation, and trail-building projects.
  • Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to ensure accurate and efficient equipment use according to project specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget, assisting co-workers as needed.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and regulations, including OSHA standards, to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Utilize a variety of tools and equipment, including hand, power, and pneumatic tools, as required by the project.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic in all job duties.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of relevant or transferable experience in equipment operation within utility, construction, masonry, or public works is preferred, but motivated candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with a range of heavy and light equipment, including excavators, front-loaders, trucks, tractors, skid steers, and chippers.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and use technology as it relates to the position.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Compensation

$24 – $32 per hour , depending on experience. Overtime opportunities available. Weekly paychecks.
