JOB TITLE: PAINTER

Work Hours: Monday – Friday – 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

MUST HAVE NO LESS THEN 2YEARS OF EXPIRENCE

JOB SUMMARY:

• Operates Paint Process System to ensure product is properly painted according to defined procedures and specifications. Ensures all paint equipment is properly maintained. Mixes paint for use in Paint Process System. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Mixes paint according to manufacturer’s specifications and ensures desired quality and consistency is achieved.
• Clean paint guns, pressure pots, and pressure sprayers.
• Prepares assigned product surface for painting with chemicals or abrasive substances as required.
• Apply paint to fabricated products as they pass through paint booth on power-driven conveyor set to a predetermined speed.
• Do Q.C. check to ensure painted product meets requirements for color, film thickness, adhesion, and appearance
• Must identify material by job/release number and drawing number.
• Performs loader duties including: prehanging of parts on overhead rack; loading and unloading parts on conveyor prior to and following painting; and inspection of parts going on and coming off conveyor.
• Performs minor maintenance to paint equipment, conveyor, dry-off oven, and spray washer as required.
• Changes paint booth filters as required.
• Removes and replaces floor paper in booth.
• Disposes of cleaning fluid according to company procedures for hazardous waste.
• Must be willing to work with hazardous chemicals and abrasive substances.
• Daily attendance of up to ten hours per day to meet schedules.
• Ability to read blue prints.
• Ability to record time on timesheet (in decimals) from reading chart.
• Must be able to read work orders and production status reports for work center numbers and times to be entered on timesheets.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Standing for long periods of time.
• Walking.
• Bending, twisting, stretching.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Good eyesight , Good eye coordination.
• Adequate hearing.
