Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week, some flexibility)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Transcriptionist to join our Technology team in New Jersey. In this role, you will support our Spoken Conversation Understanding Platform — an advanced AI system that analyzes live, human-to-human customer care conversations in real time at scale.

You will play a critical role in improving our AI applications by listening to, transcribing, and annotating complex multi-speaker audio recordings. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing natural language processing (NLP), cognitive computing, and artificial intelligence capabilities.

Due to the sensitive nature of the data, this position requires working on-site at our New Jersey facility .

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately transcribe multi-speaker conversational audio recordings verbatim, including varying accents and dialects.
• Identify and correct automatic speech recognition (ASR) errors.
• Annotate key entities for named entity recognition.
• Classify speaker intents and important phrases within conversations.
• Capture colloquial language and cultural nuances with precision.
• Proofread and quality-check your own and others’ transcriptions for accuracy and consistency.
• Interpret ambiguous speech with patience and attention to detail.
• Communicate data issues or concerns promptly to supervisors.
• Adapt quickly to evolving transcription and annotation guidelines.
• Strictly adhere to all data security and confidentiality protocols.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Native-level English proficiency.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong grammar, spelling, and language comprehension skills.
• Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
• Highly detail-oriented and focused.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Ability to concentrate for extended periods.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with internet research.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week on-site.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress).
• Strong conversational Spanish (Latin American preferred).
• Fast and accurate typing skills.
• Prior transcription and/or annotation experience.
• Experience with Mac OS.
• Familiarity with linguistic analysis tools such as Praat.
• Experience using Google Workspace.

Working Conditions

• On-site role in New Jersey.
• Up to 10% travel may be required.
• Standard office environment.
• Requires extended periods of sitting or standing, typing, and computer use.
