Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Order Picker and Reach Truck Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of inventory, order fulfillment, and shipping operations. The successful candidate will operate heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, and clamp trucks to load, unload, and organize materials within a fast-paced distribution environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to streamlined warehouse processes while maintaining safety standards and inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate reach trucks, forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse
  • Pick customer orders accurately using RF scanners and other warehouse management systems
  • Assist with order picking processes to ensure timely shipment of products
  • Load and unload shipments efficiently while adhering to safety protocols outlined by OSHA standards
  • Manage materials handling tasks including stacking, organizing, and storing inventory in designated locations
  • Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse to promote safety and operational efficiency
  • Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment to ensure mechanical integrity and report any issues promptly
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage solutions and workflow processes
  • Follow all safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation, materials handling, and warehouse environment

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution or related logistics roles with a focus on order picking and heavy equipment operation
  • Valid certification for operating reach trucks, forklifts, crane operations, or clamp trucks preferred
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and inventory control software
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards for material handling and heavy equipment operation
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance checks on equipment
  • Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures including load & unload processes
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
  • Prior experience in construction or industrial environments is advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills
