Position Summary

The VDC Manager leads Virtual Design and Construction efforts for complex commercial and mission critical projects in the Houston market. This role is responsible for overseeing BIM coordination, digital modeling standards, clash detection processes, and integration between design, preconstruction, and field operations. The VDC Manager ensures accurate, constructible models that support efficient project execution and minimize field conflicts.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead VDC strategy and implementation across assigned projects.

• Oversee BIM modeling, coordination, and clash detection processes.

• Manage VDC team members, including designers and coordinators.

• Develop and maintain modeling standards and workflows.

• Collaborate with Pre-Construction, Project Management, and Field teams to ensure model accuracy and constructability.

• Participate in coordination meetings with general contractors and trade partners.

• Support prefabrication and installation planning through detailed modeling.

• Identify and mitigate design conflicts prior to field installation.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

• Extensive experience in BIM/VDC for commercial and/or mission critical electrical construction.

• Strong knowledge of modeling software and coordination platforms.

• Leadership experience managing VDC or design teams.

• Strong understanding of construction workflows and field operations.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
