JOB SUMMARY

This paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job.

The Orthopedic Technician is accountable to and evaluated by the Patient Care Manager (or designee) for the Surgical or Orthopedic Unit, in collaboration with appropriate nursing personnel. Support their respective clinical area as it relates to orthopedic procedures, treatment and care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

* Acts as a consultant on orthopedic procedures and policies.
* As necessary, accurately sets up traction and maintains traction beds.
* Carries out all responsibilities in a pleasant, courteous and cooperative manner.
* Conducts all communication (verbal and written) in an effective, accurate, courteous manner.
* Contributes in a positive manner to the unit, department and hospital goals.
* Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, families, staff and members of the community from diverse backgrounds.
* Effectively maintains and manages their respective clinical area and performs required duties on a daily basis.
* Establishes and facilitates appropriate working relationships between the orthopedic area and work areas of the Hospital (nursing units, ED, OR, Clinic).
* Follows unit and departmental guidelines related to staffing and scheduling.
* Initiates problem-solving techniques on a timely basis.
* Maintains adequate inventory of materials and equipment

Qualifications



MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience: Six (6) months of orthopedic experience or successful completion of education/training in casting.

License/Certification:

  • Basic Life Support by American Heart Association (AHA)
  • or
  • RQI Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support

KNOWLEDGE

* Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job.
* Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.
* Knowledge of new technologies (in specific field) and maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes.

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $41.28 to $46.84
