The Security Officer ensures the safety and security of hotel guests, employees, and property. This role involves monitoring the premises, responding to incidents, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires a combination of indoor and outdoor duties, including exposure to varying weather conditions. Availability is required mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.

The hourly rate for this position is $25.75/hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol the property regularly to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.

• Respond promptly to emergencies, incidents, and alarms, following established procedures.
• Monitor surveillance systems and report suspicious activities or security breaches.
• Assist with guest-related services, including bell and package handling, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Provide clear, professional communication and directions to guests and staff.
• Write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate security logs.
• Enforce hotel policies and procedures to maintain order and compliance.
• Collaborate with other departments to address safety or operational concerns.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous security or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Strong observational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Physical capability to patrol large areas, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.
