Job Description

ChildServe is looking for a PRN Nurse to add to our Pediatric Outpatient Clinic! This individual will support our Complex Medical and Pediatric Rehabilitation physician and nursing teams during clinic visits.

•PRN Monday-Friday as needed 8am-4pm

How You’ll Make an Impact 

• Room patients and support clinic flow by obtaining vitals, patient history, and reason for visit, as well as maintaining clean exam rooms and restocking supplies as needed. 
• Manage clinical and administrative tasks including phone messages, prescription refills per protocol, maintaining patient records, and documenting patient and lab charges for billing.
• Assist the Pediatric Rehab and Complex Care teams in the outpatient clinic and participate in multidisciplinary care team meetings as needed. 
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in accordance with standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with children, families, school personnel, and staff, provide education and training as needed, demonstrate stewardship of resources, and support peers to improve care and documentation.

What You’ll Need

• RN or LPN license from the State of Iowa 
• Experience in the field of developmental disabilities, pediatrics and young adults is preferred.
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to communicate effectively in (or through) reading, writing and speaking the English language.
